May 6 -- Transportation Walk & Talk
This Walk & Talk is hosted by the Transportation Collaborative, a group that brings together community members, neighborhood leaders, organizations, and local partners who care about how people get around Springfield. The Collaborative focuses on transportation issues like street safety, accessibility, transit options, and active transportation (walking, biking, rolling), always with an eye toward equity, health, and quality of life.
During the walk, we’ll:
-
Talk about ongoing and upcoming construction and transportation projects
-
Share thoughts on walking, biking driving and transit access in the neighborhood
-
Make street-level environmental observations
-
Identify and discuss food access challenges, including possible food deserts
You don’t need any special expertise—just comfortable shoes and a willingness to share what you notice and hear from others. The pace is relaxed, and the conversation is informal and welcoming.
